Around for Italy with a very special outfit -Rome- part 5/7

Around for Italy with a very special outfit -Rome- p
Rome, the "Eternal City" was once home for Andrew who almost 15 years ago used to live in Trastevere and work as legal manager in a main company of the city.
To come back as a tourist for his honeymoon, with his adorable wife, was just thrilling.
With some luck he could book a room a few hundred meters from Piazza Navona to be in the main center of the city and have most of the sites that he wanted to see close enough to be reachable with a nice walk.
It was about 1 o' clock in the afternoon when they could reach their hotel room.
The weather was quite chilly and a strong cold wind made the day not exactly the most beautiful for a touristic trip. Nothing could stop Andrew and Mai from visiting Rome though and dressed up they started wandering for the city with a destination for their main picture in mind .... Colosseum .... of course!!
The Colosseum or Coliseum, also known as the Flavian Amphitheatre (Latin: Amphitheatrum Flavium; Italian: Anfiteatro Flavio or Colosseo), is an oval amphitheater, built of concrete and sand,it is the largest ever built. The Colosseum construction began under the emperor Vespasian in 72 AD, and was completed in 80 AD under his successor and heir Titus.
A few stops on the way were mandatory though:

Piazza Navona ..... built in 1st century AD, defined as a public space in the last years of 15th century, Piazza Navona was transformed into a highly significant example of Baroque Roman architecture and art during the pontificate of Innocent X, who reigned from 1644 until 1655. In the center of the Piazza stands the famous Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi or Fountain of the Four Rivers (1651) by Gian Lorenzo Bernini, topped by the Obelisk of Domitian, brought in pieces from the Circus of Maxentius; the church of Sant'Agnese in Agone by Francesco Borromini, Girolamo Rainaldi, Carlo Rainaldi and others.

The Altare della Patria ("Altar of the Fatherland"), also known as the Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II ("National Monument to Victor Emmanuel II") or Il Vittoriano, is a monument built in honor of Victor Emmanuel, the first king of a unified Italy. Inaugurated in 1911 and completed in 1925, the eclectic structure was designed by Giuseppe Sacconi in 1885; the sculptures are from the main sculptors of the 20th Century all over Italy, such as Leonardo Bistolfi and Angelo Zanelli.

Colosseum!!!!!
After that, the two were just too tired and the wind was just too cold to keep going in the light wedding clothes, they decided to go back for the Fori Traiani to grab a taxi and get back to their hotel.
Changed their clothes to finally put on some warm wool  they could enjoy Roman beauty wandering between the Pantheon, Fontana di Trevi and Piazza di Spagna.
Dinner in Trastevere to have some gricia (a variation of the most famous pasta amatriciana), abbacchio (lamb) and early sleep.
Up in the morning to go to Vatican city where the immense crowd of peregrines for the Jubilaeum Misericordiae and the security system put up to prevent terrorist attacks dissuaded the 2 from even trying to show up in their wedding clothes. On the road again then, next stop just 1 hour of train away, Andrew's hometown was awaiting them .... Napoli
